Can she take an incomplete?
Diana Ashe
44:05
She would probably be eligible for an incomplete, Kelley. Colleen alluded to a problem with incompletes: students sometimes just don't ever finish them and they turn into Fs. It can work better for the student, depending on the circumstances, to find a way through the class if it's possible.

That is a good point, Diana. We are out of the box here so incompletes could be a reasonable option.

Incompletes. Note taken and will ask colleagues about how this works shen I'm off to Europe

the new abnormal sounds better than the new normal. Thanks

Thank you, Diana. That is a good point to consider. I would not want to set a student up for failure.

I've had some successful Incompletes, but a couple have been heartbreaking--when the student just never finished the work. Setting a specific plan and checking in with the student regularly after the class can make all the difference--use your Outlook calendar to set reminders. It can work, but it's not a first line of defense. Pass-fail may be better this time!
